Margaret Naylon Stewart, through more than fifteen years in the field of hospitality, has nurtured the skill, drive and attention to detail to ensure that she can flawlessly execute any event, large or small.
Maggie was born and raised in upstate New York. While she attended school in Buffalo, she worked in various facets of the restaurant industry; whether acting as a manager, hostess, server, or bartender, she was dedicated to learning the ins and outs of the industry. From Buffalo Maggie headed south to University of New York at New Paltz, to complete her baccalaureate studies, achieving a degree in English. During this time she took advantage of her proximity to New York City and all of its culinary and cultural excellence to continue pursing her interest in restaurants and hospitality.
Through fate and a family friend, Maggie was encouraged to take a position at The Wauwinet Inn, Nantucket’s most exclusive resort, where she became Head Concierge for the Inn. In her capacity as concierge of the only Relais & Chateaux property on Nantucket, Maggie developed relationships with the vendors, venues and extremely discerning clientele with whom Nantucket Island Events works so closely now.
Maggie’s extensive background in hospitality and food & beverage paired with an unerring work ethic and love of a fabulous party, made a partnership in 2013 with Nantucket Island Events the obvious next step in her career.
In Maggie’s spare time you’ll find her walking the island beaches with her husband and two dogs, cooking, reading and fulfilling her philanthropic obligations as a member of The Rotary Club of Nantucket and support of various other local charities.
